The Phuket Provincial Fisheries Office has issued a warning too the public to stay away from an lagoon near the abandoned tin mine on the south side of town, following reports by some local residents that several crocodiles were spotted there yesterday morning.Provincial officials will try to catch these dangerous reptiles, but until today, they little success.
All of the crocodiles were described as at least one-meter in length, the water in the lagoon is salt water. This can indicate that the animals are still relative young and one of the parents is still nearby.
Salt water crocodile, which can actually live in fresh or salt water. They can grow to lengths of 6 meters, or in a protective environment they can grow even bigger.
The Phuket Provincial Fisheries Office, which has been ordered to catch the crocodiles, has been unable to spot them.

The size of the lagoon and the crocodile’s notoriously effective ability to blend into the environment may be factors hindering the search, he said.
