Thai orchids are a monocot and their flowers are colorful. Thailand earns a sizable income from orchid exports each year. Orchids have become one of the country’s major cash crops.
Today, orchids are grown on a full-cycle basis in Thailand, ranging from breeding, issue raising, sapling raising, flower cutting, packaging, and exporting.
Two major origins of orchids are in Latin America; in Central America connecting to the northern part of South America, and Asia-Pacific, with Thailand as the center. A survey shows that Thailand has an abundance of exotic orchids, which can be found on terrains, trees, and mountains. Thailand’s natural environments are favorable to the growing of orchids.
So it is not surprising that many Thais have turned to grow orchids at their homes. Orchids captivate people with their spectacular diverse forms and colors. The unique charm of Thai orchids is attractive to a great number of foreigners.
