Traveling Around The Ten Islands Of The Andaman Sea

Thai TravelNowadays, it is very convenient to visit islands in the Andaman Sea, especially the major islands in Krabi and Satun provinces. There are many different kinds of boats, from passenger boat to speedboat, running to and for between the islands and the mainland.

However, in order to get to smaller and infamous islands, it might be much less choices of transportation; you might need to hire the motorboat of the locals or charter a whole speedboat there.

Koh Pada, Koh Khai, Koh Tap, Koh Mo and Koh Hong could be reached from Ao Nang. Most tourists choose to charter a whole narrow boat there and make an appointment with the boat for the returning day. The journey to these islands takes around 15 to 20 minutes.Koh Bu Bu and Koh Po are easiest to reach by narrow motorboat from Bo Muang Pier in Amphoe Nua Khlong, Krabi and from Sriraya Market near the old administrative office at Koh Lanta.

Koh Talabeng is close to Koh Lanta Noi toward the east of Koh Lanta around Ban Lo Yai. Travelers often rent a kayak and row to this island and back.

Koh Si Bo Ya and Koh Jam are best accessed by long narrow motorboat from Laem Kruad Pier. Moreover, from Krabi Tourist Pier (Khlong Ji Lard Pier) there are boat sevices to Koh Phi Phi, which also pass Koh Jam on the way.

Koh Li Pe and Koh Blone are the two islands that could be reached from Pak Bara Pier. The regular boat leaves twice a day and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. However, if you are looking for an easier and more comfortable trip, there are plenty of travel agencies in Satun province to arrange a complete trip to both islands.

Koh Li Di is a small island near Mu Koh Petra National Park. Most visitors choose to spend the night near the park office and charter a boat to Koh Li Di. Around the area are lodging houses, tent site, and restaurants for tourists.
