Ayutthaya is the ancient town that well worth for you to visit, it’s very wonderful if we are dreaming about the old time. I and my boyfriend selected to visit Ayutthaya a few weeks ago, it was very great moment. We started to take a bus at Mochit Bus Terminal; the cost for a ticket is 55 baht per person and takes time about 1 and half hours. There are two bus types for you to select, which is the 1st class air-conditioned and 2nd class air-conditioned (99 bus) but I recommended that better you take the one which called the 2nd class or 99 buss, because it’s more faster and not stop much like the 1st one. There are many options for you to go to Ayutthaya such as take the bus at Mochit Bus Terminal is cost around 55 – 65 baht per person, Hua Lamphong Railway Station is cost 20 baht per person, van at the Victory Monument is cost 65 baht per person, and other vans near Mochit Bus Ternina also cost the same.
After we arrived at Ho Rattanachi Road, Ayutthaya around 10 a.m. and then we walked further toward about 50 meters to rent bicycles (one for me and another for my boyfriend), one bicycle is cost 40 baht and have to return around 5 p.m. If you don’t have any map of Ayutthaya, but you no need to worry about it because the bicycle rental shop will offer to give to you and also introduce the nice places to visit, too.
We got bicycles then rid to the nearest temple was Wat Mahathat, to entrance this temple you have to pay for a ticket which Thais person is cost 10 baht and for foreigners is cost 30 baht. It’s very big and wonderful place, a lot of Jedee and stupa. We were enjoying walking and shooting pictures at this temple very much. There is the famous thing in this temple is called The Face of Buddha. After that we were riding bicycles toward to Thanon U-Thong Road to looking for our lunch at the side of the river. So, we rid all around the Thanon U-Thong Road and almost temples in the ancient town, then got back around 4 p.m. to bicycle rental shop to return the bicycles. And ahead to took the boat to the other side for taking the train back to Bangkok.
We bough 2 tickets for 40 baht, after that we looked for food place to enjoy our favorite Leo beer. We sat at that food place almost 2 hours, and then walked to the train station. If you want to drink some beer you can buy at the train station or on the train and it is cost the same with 30 baht per can (Leo beer).
Next time, we will make the trip to Ayutthaya again soon. I can tell you that for one day trip to Ayutthaya is very worth!
